Your storefront
The website editor: sections, drafts, publishing, and what a shopper sees before you press Publish.
Your storefront is edited in one place — Website → Customize — and that editor covers more than the home page. It edits every custom page you write, the templates behind product and collection pages, and your store's colours and type.
Sections
A page is a stack of sections: a hero, a product row, a piece of text, a FAQ, an image with words beside it. You add one, drag it into place, and fill it in. The panel on the right edits whichever section you have selected.
Product and collection pages are edited as templates, not one at a time. Edit the product template and every product page changes. That is the point of it.
Draft, preview, publish
Everything you do in the editor is a draft. Shoppers keep seeing the last thing you published until you press Publish.
- Preview shows your draft as a shopper would see it, from a link you can send someone.
- Publish makes it live.
- History lets you go back to something you published earlier.
Styles
Colours, typefaces and the general shape of things live in the editor's inspector, beside the canvas, under Styles. They apply to your whole storefront rather than to one page.
Pages, and the one rule about them
Pages are listed under Website. Writing one gives it a URL at /pages/your-handle.
Navigation
Website → Navigation is your storefront's header menu. Menu items point at a thing — a collection, a page, a product — rather than at a typed-in URL, so an item never goes stale silently. If you delete what an item points at, the item disappears from your storefront and is flagged as broken in the dashboard rather than sending shoppers to a dead page.
If you never touch Navigation at all, your header shows a sensible built-in menu. An empty menu, on the other hand, is taken at its word.
Search
Every storefront has a search box in its header, and it works out of the box — there is nothing to enable, index or pay for. A search is a real, shareable address, so a shopper can bookmark it or go back to it. Collection pages get the same treatment one level down, with sorting, a price range, an in-stock switch, and a filter for each option your products actually carry.
The AI assistant
The editor has an assistant that can draft and rearrange sections for you. Ask it for what you want in plain words; it shows you what it proposes to change before anything happens, and you accept or reject it. It never publishes.
It cannot generate images on this eCrate — that is a separate capability and it is not switched on here. Upload your own or pick from your media library wherever an image is asked for.
